How to become an Aesthetician

To obtain a basic aesthetician license in Utah, you need to complete 600 hours of classes and practical hands-on experience. You must then pass the Utah Basic Esthetician Exam, and receive a license from the Utah Cosmetology/Barbering Board.

At PIA Institute, our Basic Aesthetics programs cover essential theoretical and practical topics such as administering spa treatments like facials, maintaining skin health, and providing instruction in cosmetic procedures such as lash extensions and makeup application. You will gain knowledge in crucial sanitation and sterilization practices as wells as learn business topics such as managing and working with clients, marketing and social media.

These skills differentiate licensed professional aestheticians from salon trainees. Improperly performed procedures by untrained technicians could potentially harm clients, leading to infections, eye damage, skin issues, and other complications.

WHAT IS THE INTERMEDIATE MASTER AESTHETICIAN PROGRAM?

While achieving Basic Aesthetician certification requires 600 hours of classes, advancing to master esthetician requires an additional 600 hours of advanced aesthetics training.
